Data Deletion & Account Deletion

Section LLC operates YourScene (website and mobile app). This page explains how to request deletion of your account and associated personal data.

This page is the public data-deletion and account-deletion resource for app store review and user support.

Delete your account in the app (recommended)

If you have a YourScene account:

  1. Open the app
  2. Go to Profile
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap Account
  5. Tap Delete Account and confirm

This is the recommended path because it keeps the request tied to the account session.

Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app, email privacy@yourscene.app from the address associated with your account with the subject line Account Deletion Request.

Include:

  • Your account email
  • Your username (if known)
  • Whether you want full account deletion or deletion of specific data

We may verify your identity before processing the request.

What we delete

When you delete your account, we aim to delete or anonymize:

  • Account credentials and profile (email, username, avatar, Fan Passport fields)
  • Location history tied to your account (if stored)
  • RSVPs, check-ins, follows, saved/created events linked to you
  • Posts, clips, and media you uploaded (subject to backup retention windows)
  • Push notification tokens
  • Analytics identifiers linked to your user ID in our systems

What may be retained

We may retain limited information where required or permitted by law, including:

  • Records needed for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance
  • Aggregated or de-identified analytics that cannot reasonably identify you
  • Backup copies for a limited period before automated purge
  • Waitlist signups submitted only via the website (handled separately; reply to your deletion email)

Processing time

We typically process verified deletion requests within 30 days. Backups may take additional time to cycle out per our retention schedule.

Website waitlist only

If you joined the city waitlist on the website but never created an app account, email privacy@yourscene.app from the same email address you used to sign up and ask us to remove your waitlist entry (including city and attribution fields we stored).
